The Village of Onarga is located in Iroquois County, Illinois in East Central Illinois along
the Indiana border, 95 miles south of Chicago and 45 miles north of Champaign-Urbana.

The third largest county in Illinois in area, Iroquois County offers a rich mixture of
agriculture, business, and manufacturing with plenty of really nice little towns to live in,
one of the nicest being Onarga. Forty miles of Interstate Highway 57 bisect the county
from north to south, and US Routes 24 and 45 cross at Gilman.

Onarga is rich in local and national history.
One of many century-old homes in
Onarga, The "Evergreen Home" was the
residence of Onarga's first merchant,
William P. Pierson.
Once the summer home of famous detective
Allan Pinkerton, this "Villa" was a
showplace on the vast acreage of "The
Larch Farm" just north of Onarga.
